Open Range Hunting at Briarwood

Connecting with us at Briarwood is a lot easier than you would think.  From the beginning of any potential relationship we are as accommodating as possible and are willing to work around anyone’s schedule. We offer simply the best Ohio deer hunting experience out there, from the time you make first contact, until you drive out with a buck in tow. The following chain of events depicts how easy booking a trip to Briarwood can be. This is the story of Jim, a hunter that achieved instant Ohio rut hunting success and an experience of a lifetime!                          

• Sept. 18, 2018- Jim finds out about Briarwood Sporting Club and requests info via online about our estate hunting packets.   
• Sept. 19, 2018- Once the request was made, Briarwood Staff member Dianna sent a personal email following up with his request for a hunt with the outfitter.  The packet included both the fishing and estate hunting packets, covering all of the accommodation’s, options for the hunt, and even some fishing club membership options.  
• Oct. 30, 2018- After receiving the packet and follow up promotional details, Jim wrote back in asking for available dates to hunt some of the giant free ranging whitetails Briarwood Sporting Club offers.  
• Oct. 30, 2018- A call was made directly to Jim shortly after reviewing what he wanted out of a hunt…intense rut action, giant whitetails, and a quality experience.  

• Nov. 6, 2018- Jim calls us and leaves a voice mail. We returned his call and he wants to do a rut hunt. We told him we have availability for the upcoming week…this week. 
• Nov. 8, 2018- Jim sends us a text committing to this week. He will drive in from Maine. 
• Nov. 11, 2018- Jim arrives to Briarwood around 1pm and heads to the field around 2:30. Three hours into the rut hunting action and Jim encounters and successfully harvests the buck below. A giant Ohio whitetail pushing close to 300 lbs. on the hoof.

Besides the instant success, Jim reported that he was blown away by the experience, accommodations, and overall setting of the hunt. From the lodging and food, to the hunt and staff, Briarwood offers the whole package for a fair price! Briarwood Sporting Club offers open range Whitetail and Turkey hunts in beautiful Logan County, Ohio, as well as estate hunts for trophy whitetails.  

After many years of developing relationships with local land owners, we have secured exclusive hunting rights to some prime open range whitetail hunting property providing the perfect combination of hardwoods, thick cover and food plots. Our mission is to provide each hunter the opportunity to harvest a mature Northeastern Whitetail.
