Chris and Kristy met at Purdue University in 1999. Upon graduation, Chris’ two uncles introduced him to deer hunting, where he found a new passion. He had never had the opportunity to hunt growing up, but always loved the outdoors. When Chris and Kristy married in 2004, they decided to both work in real estate in Chris’ hometown of Tampa, Florida. Chris wanted to pursue his passion for hunting, and spent 2 seasons in Central Illinois working as a whitetail guide learning the ins and outs of the industry. The following 2 years, he headed to Missouri to guide at a large estate for North American whitetail, American bison, elk and red deer. All the while, Kristy stayed in Florida selling residential real estate. In early 2007, they headed back to the Midwest to find a farm for their own whitetail preserve. After several years of research, Ohio seemed to be the best place to look for the ideal piece of property…..the perfect habitat for whitetails. They were fortunate to come across Briarwood, which had been operating as a members-only fishing club for 30+ years. On their first trip to the club, they both knew they found something special. The Daniels purchased the property in September of 2008, and never looked back. Chris and Kristy are passionate about family, the outdoors, and providing a true Briarwood “experience” to each and every guest that visits!

Mike Stettler

Club Manager/Head guide

Mike has been with Briarwood since 2008. Mike has been an avid outdoorsman since he was 10 years old. He grew up on Indian Lake ﬁshing and hunting waterfowl. His passion is hunting, bass ﬁshing, and trapping and working at Briarwood allows him to fulﬁll that passion each and every day.

Drew McCartt

Director of Sporting Services

Drew has been an avid fisherman his entire life and a dedicated fly fisherman for over 25 years. He brought his passion for the outdoors and BS and MS degrees in fisheries and wildlife management to Briarwood, a place he has called his “perfect escape” for years. Prior to joining the Briarwood family, he focused his career skills and strengths in the areas of business development, client relations, marketing, and fundraising – exactly what he provides to the club and members. “My drive in my role is to share my favorite place with more hunters, anglers, and folks who sometimes simply want a weekend lodge getaway!"

Dianna Ward

Office Manager

Dianna has been a part of the Briarwood team since 2005 and has a strong customer service background. She handles the ins and outs of the ofﬁce responsibilities and takes great pride in her work. Dianna strives to make your Briarwood experience one to remember.

Brennon Lump

Assistant Club Manager

Brennon Lump is a 2018 graduate from Ohio Northern University. His passion for the outdoors began at a young age. He is an avid bow hunter and loves fishing both freshwater and saltwater. During the summer of 2016, he worked as a bear hunting and fishing guide in Quebec, Canada. Brennon says, “Seeing the joy others get from a successful hunt is more than enough for me!”

Morgan Brown

Social Media Manager

Morgan is a recent addition to our Briarwood team. Graduating from University of Florida with a major in Telecommunications, Morgan is in charge of all things social! She handles all of our social media platforms along with our merchandise and social events! She brings her Florida sunshine all the way to Ohio!

Josh Iman

Guide/ Grounds Maintenance

It doesn’t take long to know Josh and you realize he was born with a true hard-working grit and outdoor spirit… Born and raised in the Logan County area, he has worked for Briarwood since 2011 and remains a local resident. Second only to his love for his family and spending time with them is his lifelong passion for bowhunting, fishing, and trapping.“What I love about being outdoors, just like Briarwood, is being in God’s country – turkeys gobbling on a warm spring morning and deer hunting in the middle of rut…what’s not to like?!”

Trace Tevis

Guide/ Grounds Maintenance

Soft spoken with a strong smile, Trace is as physically strong and hard working as the day is long. Born and raised nearby in West Mansfield, he worked on a family farm growing up, then later at Mad River Ski Mountain. He now calls Zanesfield, Ohio his home and lives and breathes fishing and hunting. When not spending time outdoors, he enjoys weight lifting, taking in sports, and dirt bikes. “Making the most of the seasons in the fresh air, enjoying Ohio’s wildlife and taking in the tranquility is what drives me at Briarwood and in my free time,” Trace proudly proclaims.

Jeff Krause

"I have been fortunate enough to both hunt and guide at Briarwood since 2012. I am a Michigan resident that loves to be outside hunting and fishing from the inland lakes to the big water of the Great Lakes or the beautiful lakes of Canada…. it’s always a great day to be outside. I have a passion for "The Hunt”. I’ve been in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana Elk hunting, the corn fields of Michigan and Iowa pheasant hunting, to the bush in Canada deer and bear hunting….you name it, I am all in! As one of the experienced guides at Briarwood we will see to it that your time here is truly a great experience as we all have the same passion."

Mike Bosler

“You can just call me Bosler,” says Mike. He is from Southern Indiana and lives on the farm where he was born. Mike has been hiking, ﬁshing, and hunting the great outdoors for 40 plus years. He’s been featured on numerous hunting TV shows, while guiding deer and turkey at his own operation in Indiana. “I look forward to many more years with the Briarwood team. I’m proud to be a part of it!

Dane Green

Guide / Taxidermist

Dane was born and raised in Logan County, Ohio and has been bowhunting whitetails for 30+ years. A machinist by trade, Dane’s passion for the outdoors led him to a change of scenery. He worked at Briarwood for 5 years under the previous owners and then began guiding whitetail hunts. He headed to taxidermy school, and opened his own shop in 2010. Dane has been guiding hunts at Briarwood since 2015.

Cathy Sine

Housekeeping

Cathy has been with Briarwood since 2014, working to make our lodges a comfortable home away from home. Although most of her time is spent indoors, she has the opportunity to mingle with both our ﬁshing members as well as hunters. Cathy even learned how to clean trout! She loves meeting our guests and hearing about their adventures.

Jody Butler

Housekeeping / Gardening

Jody brings her passion as a caring mother and grandmother and life-long passion for the outdoors, water and fishing to her job with Briarwood housekeeping. As an Indian Lake resident with her family for over two decades, the area is truly a comfortable home to Jody. Besides spending time with her grandkids and fishing, Jody has a serious green thumb and lives for gardening. She quickly became Briarwood’s gardener tending to flowers and shrubs across the property. Jody proudly says “Briarwood is so beautiful and peaceful and who wouldn’t want that everyday at work?

Mike Kenoyer

Grounds Maintenance

Mike started at Briarwood as an early retirement job, as he is wrapping up his 29th year with a local manufacturing company. He has 4 adult children, and spends his free time on the golf course. Mike loves the beauty of Briarwood and is the person to stop and thank for keeping our grounds looking so pristine! Flag him down and say hello when you see him on the mower!

Josh Iman

Guide/ Grounds Maintenance

Josh is an avid outdoorsman whose passions include deer hunting, ﬁshing and trapping. He has guided at Briarwood since 2012. When not at the club, he helps his dad on the family apiary.

Kendra Shaw

Housekeeping

Kendra has been a part of the Briarwood family since 2015. As a part of housekeeping, she strives to make the lodges comfy and cozy for a relaxing stay. She is a lover of nature, and enjoys spending time with her family.

Toby Stettler

Guide/ Grounds Maintenance

Since the age of 14 Toby has been running around the club grounds. His father raised him to be an avid hunter and ﬁsherman, focusing mainly on waterfowl and whitetail. He is a hunting guide and manages the open range properties. Toby says “Within the 4 years I have been with Briarwood I’ve had various opportunities and experiences that I never thought imaginable!”
